What is sensory processing disorder anyway?

I have tried to explain Sensory Processing Disorder in so many ways that I swear my face is going to turn blue. And what about the parents whose kiddos have SPD but still aren't sure what it is. By no means will this fit every child. Sensory challenges present themselves in so many different ways, depending on if your child is hyper or hypo sensitive.
